The Magic of Attention
“The moment one gives close attention to anything, even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself.”
– Henry Miller
Attention is one of the most powerful manifesting tools that you have access to.
Where your attention goes, energy flows. As I’ve learned to schedule, commit, and command my attention, my life has truly transformed into one of meaning, purpose, joy and even abundance.
Here are a few of the benefits of learning to direct and govern your attention:
Attention brings higher performance
Sustained attention is a type of attention that allows you to concentrate deeply on a task for a specified period of time. If you’re attempting to create anything, periods of sustained attention will propel you forward on a given project.
For example, my husband and I started an art business in 2019. I spent over six months doing short, one- to two-hour bursts of sustained attention each day to build the infrastructure of the business and create the marketing and sales system.
Now, the business supports my husband and I full-time.
Attention stimulates engagement, engagement brings you joy
Do you allow yourself to get fully absorbed in a task?
Once you're fully absorbed and giving your full attention, you're most likely enjoying what you're doing. You feel stimulated and alive. You may also feel productive and joyful.
Attention is the medium for which thoughts become things
Focusing your attention and directing it on your thoughts allows them to become things because where your attention goes, energy flows, and thoughts need energy to become real, tangible, and manifest.
When creating something, you’re extending your energy outward with attention. You control your attention, and that controls the flow of energy.
Controlling or focusing your attention is a key to transforming your life
